The proper way to use pressure shift and weight shift in your golf swing!
Often times these two terms are used interchangeably, but they couldn’t be further from each other. One is slow and cumbersome and the other is fast and athletic.
Understanding when and how to use both a pressure shift and weight shift in your golf swing can have a big effect on the quality of your shots.
Holding Lag Through Impact:

Get the release correct with the driver and it can lead to longer and straighter tee shots.

Such an easy drill to enhance ball striking. Getting the right elbow in a good position is something we can all do, we just need to know how. Give this one a try …
In this video I’m focusing on the wedge shots that aren’t quite the chip shots around the greens but aren’t quite the full pitching wedge shot either – that zone from about 30-100 yards.
Our goal with these wedge shots is proximity to the hole. So, I’m talking in detail about the setup pieces, backswing pieces and downswing and follow through pieces for these shots that will help you do just that so you can save par more and make more birdies.
If you struggle with a consistent strike in your golf swing, it could be coming from a swaying in your backswing. In this golf lesson Matt Fryer talks through the movement in the backswing and how developing a more centred backswing instead of a sway, will help you control the low point in your golf swing. If you control the low point in the golf swing you will be able to achieve a better and more consistent golf strike.
When watching players like Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and even Gary Player still in his older age, they all look very stable and centred in their backswings and not adding in a sway. This fundamental move although simple will play a huge part in your golf swing and strike, so make sure you give the drill a go and gain the consistency you need to strike it well more frequently.
I meet many players who struggle to play bunker shots when the ball is buried or plugged. A buried lie is the results of the ball landing in soft sand and then staying is the depression that is left by that impact.
The difficulty with this shot is due to you not having easy access to the back of the ball. This results in less spin on the ball and thus less control over the shot, so you must play it differently to a normal bunker shot.
A normal bunker shot requires a swing motion that results in high ball flights with a lot of spin on the ball. This type of ball flight is just not possible form a buried lie.
