Recently a friend told me of her father who was in his nineties and went golfing with his buddies, every week. You see, his health was failing, his mind loved to roam but his loved his golf and he had a secret.

The family became worried that maybe golf was becoming difficult for Charles as he fell asleep as soon as he got home, which was totally out of character for him.

They were unaware of how he actually golfed until one of his friends let them in on a secret to Charles playing golf.

He paid for the game, paid for the electric golf cart and drove the golf cart for his buddies. His club never left his bag. Just before it was his turn, he would get into the golf cart, missing his turn. His buddies never said a word. This was a closely guarded secret among the boys, who were very close to Charles age.

Yes, in his mind he was playing a round of golf with his buddies.

After each game they all head for the clubhouse, razzing each other over who had the best shots, including Charles.

Now this is what true true friendships are really about.

As they leave the course, Charles promised to see them in a couple of days back on the course.

Unaware that his family knows his secret, Charles continues to golf with his buddies each week.

So, at what age should you stop golfing, how about never, as long as you have great golf buddies?
