The driving range is an extremely important resource when trying to hone your swing. Often times, you will be on the course in front of friends and onlookers, which is not a good environment for trying to better your game and take chances. This is the point of the driving range – you can take swing after swing for as long as your heart desires!

Many times you will leave the driving range feeling confident that you have finally gotten your swing to where you want it to be, only to arrive on the course and feel as if you have not progressed at all! There are a few reasons for this, once tackled, can become a thing of the past!

The first, most obvious factor is nerves. After a careful hour at the driving range, the course can seem extremely intimidating, causing the golfer to freeze up and lose any progress he or she may have made on the range.

This can be coincided with simply will power. Just remember when you step onto the course that nothing is changing in terms of how you are hitting the ball. Concentrate on the game, not the people watching you.

The second factor has to do with the need to pinpoint your shot more on the course than on the range. However, if you focus on where you want the ball to land and not on driving it as far as possible, this problem will be a thing of the past!

The key as always is to play intelligently.

Hilton Head links are world famous because of their celebrity design and players as well as their scenery. These are just one of the many reasons to visit this beautiful and serene barrier island beach for your next vacation. Imagine standing out on the golf green, playing at the top of your game, while looking at the beautiful Atlantic Ocean waves crashing on the quiet, clean sand of the island. Think about the stretches of sand traps and short hills nestled among large spans of Live Oak forest shaded by Spanish moss. These courses offer these surroundings and much more to both locales and travelers alike, and with the help of these packages, players can get the most out of their golf trips. There are a few links that no player should miss or forget to include in their package. Here is an example of just two of the many must-play types of courses on the island.

The Scenic Marsh Courses
There are dozens of golf courses on Hilton Head Island that offer some of the most breathtaking views in the world. Courses like the Harbor Town Golf Links, which is the home to an annual PGA event. Other courses are also nestled among these views of Spartina grass and mud flats that appear and fade away with the tides in the tidal creeks. The trees that line the perimeter of these courses are hundreds of years old and are considered to be among the most beautiful scenery to visiting golfers from all over the world. Other courses that have these great views include Heron Point, The Robert Trent Jones Course, and the George Fazio course. All of these courses are great because there are many golf packages that include a game or two on these scenic greens, so having a great time on a Hilton Head course can be easy and affordable.

The Ocean Course
Because Hilton Head is such a popular vacation spot due to the rising of breathtaking golf courses and the beautiful beaches, combining these two activities seems only right. There is only one course that can say that it has an oceanfront hole, and it is aptly named The Ocean Course. There are a few other courses that offer views of the ocean, but none can boast the same view as this particular course's 15th hole, which is right beside the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Because of its popularity, many golf packages are built solely around this spectacular green, so playing your favorite sport right on the water is an affordable possibility.

These two types of links are just a taste of all the golfing destinations that Hilton Head has to offer. With their beautiful scenery and professional design, these scenic greens are must-plays for any golfer, and for players on a budget, these links also offer value. By building your golf package around these links, or any of the other links that the island has to offer, you can obtain discounts and savings to help you get the most out of your trip.
