Most golfers will do anything to learn how to get the perfect swing in golf. They will pay for books, videos, golf swing aids, and high-priced golf instructors to attain the swing that will get there ball just where they want it.
What some golfers do not know is that there are many exercises available that they can do to gain power and flexibility, and this can be implemented in their own home and free of charge.
Adding flexibility to your arm muscles when you swing is vital in helping to drive the ball farther. There are 2 basic exercises you can do to create power in these muscles: the golf twist and the golf squat.
You will need a 5-lb medicine ball or dumbbell to perform the golf twist. Standing with your feet very slowly apart, use both hand to hold the 5-lb weight at your chest line. Keep your elbows extended out to your sides. Next, bring the ball up and to your left, just as you would in a backswing. Keep your right shoulder underneath your chin. Then continue this exercise on the other side, bringing the ball to your right.
To do the golf squat you will need a 10-lb dumbbell. Stand gripping the weight hand-over-hand. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. Now lower to a squat. Rise and turn to the right raising the weight over your right shoulder. Repeat the exercise starting to the left.
If you are consistent in doing the above exercises you should be able to increase the flexibility in the muscles needed to learn how to get the perfect swing in golf. You will also gain power in your swing and will benefit from reduced muscle soreness after your game.
