I wanted to discuss the very powerful and exploding social network Facebook. With the recent release of the movie, it looks like it's picking up steam yet again. What I found with Facebook is the ease of connecting with friends I had not spoken to in years, even decades. How cool is that? Secondly, extended family. Mine are in Canada so it makes it really easy to chat with them anytime we want.

But you golfers, how about you? Have you connected with new golfing buddies on Facebook yet? It's really easy. Just do a search for golf or golfer, and thousands of people will come up. What's cool about that is you can share golf tips, resources and even golf destinations with each other.

This would have been impossible before, but now with a few clicks you're chatting with new golfing friends from all over the country (and world). Another cool use is to find new, local golfers in your area. Connect with them first on Facebook; get to know them, and then see if you can hook up for some golf. I would use this if I were new in town. Just think, instead of starting all by yourself in a new town, you just search, connect and get to know golfers right in the comfort of your own home.

There are of course golf communities online as well, but this one is by far the most powerful of them all. It's something like 700 million people and growing. Just think of all the golfers you can reach out to and get to know. So next time you're sitting at your computer, and it's snowing or bad weather, just jump on Facebook and start getting to know other golfers.

Watch the Pros Play Golf

[ad_1]

You can check out a pro golf swing on video instruction tapes and on TV during golf shows and games. Checking out the golf swing of a pro can help even the amateur fine tune their own swing.

Taking lessons from a pro is a great way to have them analyze your swing and help you to make changes to make your golf game better and more consistent. Call your local golf course to ask if they have a pro on staff for you to take lessons from.

Purchasing a golf instruction tape can also give you a tool to analyze a pro’s golf swing. Pro’s usually have personal coaching so their swings may be more smooth and precise than yours. Some golf instruction tape’s have slow-motion segments where you can really see what the actions of the player are. An advantage to a video is that you can rewind and watch again until you learn the swing consistently.

Golf tips by Tiger Woods can be found online, in magazines, or on shows that have him as a guest. Other professionals have written books or articles in magazines describing their golf game and experiences. Check your local bookstore to see what golf instruction books that they may have available.
