Golf Swing Tip that Nobody Teaches

From a teachers perspective, understanding how the body works (biomechanics) is an important part of teaching the golf swing. This allows us to show you how to position the body, which in turn, helps you hit the ball better and play better golf. Luckily, the Single Plane Golf Swing is a model, defined by certain positions that produce the easiest way to get to impact.

In this video, I show you the importance of isolating the lead shoulder to square the club face at impact – the most important moment of the swing.

The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing – impact.

Shallow the Shaft on the Downswing Drill

If you want more pars, but tend to jump outta bed on the downswing, then join Nick and Christina as they discuss how to load the shaft on the downswing (lay it down / shallow it).

Players go off by steepening the shaft, where it gets too vertical during the downswing, which creates the weak-rights, pulls and slices.

Why the Tour Pro’s Putt better than you

The ability to putt well can feel like the difference between making it and breaking it in the game of golf. It is, after all, where the majority of strokes are taken. That being the case, it’s very important to know how to putt–and how to putt well.

This simple putting technique “The Position” is used by most PGA tour pros and it could have you putting like the pros in no time.

Stop Casting Your Golf Club

In this video, Titleist member Dave Phillips explores casting. This common fault gets its name from fishing and those who suffer from it release the club early, resembling an angler who snaps the tip of his fishing rod to launch the lure out onto open water.

If you’re casting the golf club, you’re losing speed and power, because you’re losing the angle between your wrists and the club shaft prematurely. In golf, when you lose your angles early, you dump all the stored energy you’ve generated in your backswing before you need it – at impact.

The key to curing a casting motion is learning to use your lower body properly. When you can separate the turning of your hips from the uncoiling of your upper body, you maintain lag and swing in an efficient sequence that allows you to lean the club shaft forward, de-loft the club face and deliver maximum force into the back of the golf ball.

Develop this skill as described by Dave and you’ll start hitting crisper, more powerful shots with a lot less effort.

Impact Checkpoint – Training Your Low Point Line

Golfers struggling with a concept known as “low point” will often face a variety of consistency issues ranging from poor contact to erratic start-lines. Students working on their impact orientations (and in turn this concept) may also have added difficulties when increasing speed & power.

For these situations, a simple pool-noodle or vertical alignment stick can increase spatial awareness and provide additional feedback regarding any sway/lunge patterns that may be present; this creates an environment where players can gradually increase the length of their backswing and still maintain efficient impact orientations.

Overall, improving low point should be one of the first considerations in the search to consistently find more fairways and greens.
