EARLY EXTENSION FIX

EARLY EXTENSION FIX

Early extension is one of the top swing “faults” (I prefer the term issue over fault) that golfers struggle with. It causes you to lose your posture and makes it very difficult to control the club face through impact, leading to a 2 way miss – either blocking the golf ball out to the right, or missing to the left with a big hook (for right handed golfers).

So in this video golf tip, Natalie Adams from Smash Factor golf coaching shows you a great drill to get the lead side of your pelvis moving better, which will help you to improve the rotational movement in your pelvis during your downswing and through impact.

Drill For Golfers Who Hit Fat Shots

The line drill is a great drill to help you stop chunking your shots. Draw a line on the ground and place your club slightly in front of that line, then lean the club a little forward at address.

Practice swinging the club and hitting the ground in front of the line. Start with slow, small swings and work your way up to full swings with the ball.

A Universal Swing Plane Drill For Any Flaw

I have a red dot on my wall and I use it to show swing plane. It’s used as a visual that people could relate to when they swing the club. You don’t need a red dot you can visualize with anything it’s the same concept.

I have people swing through and see if they can get the club pointed at the red dot and I just have them do it over and over and over until I can see that they’ve got their arms and their hips turning through and that the club is going back up the plane on the way through.

This helps you with everything and it absolutely gets you understanding that the swing goes on a curve. There are no straight lines in the golf swing.

Learn Ben Hogan and Mike Austins Throwing Action

Ben Hogan and Mike Austin’s throwing action was a huge game changer to my golf game. You should try it.

Ben Hogan wanted three right hands to throw the clubhead. Mike Austin preached throw, not pull, not push, for extra power.

I found throwing improved not only distance, also clubface control.

I practice throwing along the arc created by the compound pivot and left arm.
