GET OFF OF YOUR BACK FOOT START MAKING BETTER CONTACT
In today’s video Mark Russo, 2018 MAPGA Teacher of the Year and Golf Digest ranked instructor, uses a bit of technology and a very simple “intention based” drill to help you learn to shift your pressure better in your golf swing so that you can get off of your back foot and hit the ball more solid every time.
Stop hanging back and start making better contact!
In this video I look at rotation. It is a very interesting topic. I think a lot of players are trying to rotate, but they have problem achieving that rotation.
This is a bit of a different look at what will go into rotation if it is something you are looking to do more of in your swing.
Forearm rotation and wrist hinge is a key aspect in any backswing, many amateur golfers tend to have too much forearm rotation too early in the backswing, causing numerous issues.
So in this video, we talk about backswing timing, body and forearm rotation, and how much to do it.
A lot of people ask what’s the most important thing to work on? What is the one drill they need to do?
Now, there are a lot of drills out there. The question is what fundamental skill do you need to master before you can really start looking at different drills to dial in the consistency and ball striking in your golf swing. Until you have really gotten a feel for how your arms and shoulders work together, there’s nothing else I’d have you focus on to improve your swing.
Improve The Top Of Your Swing Using The Water Bottle Backswing Drill
If you want to hit the golf ball more solid & straighter … having your club in the best position at the top of your backswing will surely help
Most Golfers that struggle with pulls, pushes, slices, & hooks can find a more consistent golf swing by learning to feel the path to the top of their swing
Yet, in order to find a consistent movement … you should be incorporating a drill that allows you to learn & cement that FEEL
The Water Bottle Backswing Drill trains you to learn your backswing. Because if the water bottle isn’t going toward the target on your backswing … it’s unlikely that your golf ball will consistently go there either
Jordan Hamblin (GMS Instructor – Indian Wells) offers a demonstration that’ll help you to learn a very consistent golf swing!

Golf Swing Sequence and Body Motion – How The Pros Do It
The swing sequence is like a chain reaction, several stages of motion building force and accelerating on top of each other. As Milo teaches, in the swing sequence the most efficient way to release all the energy you store up during the backswing can be described as Shift, Turn, Swing.
Moving your body in this specific order accomplishes a number of great things. It makes use of ground forces and leverage to produces the greatest club speed you’re capable of generating. It keeps your body balanced throughout the motion, leading to a golf swing that is easy to repeat.
