Here with our friend Alistair Davies to share some simple golf tips on how to use the lower body in the downswing. Which in turn gets you to use the ground correctly to give natural power not matter your age.
When you focus on natural techniques for your golf swing, the whole process becomes a lot easier and simpler. It also gives you a golf swing that has more power and consistency! Pretty good right! With the one arm pause drill, it forces you to use your instincts better.
This is key to better golf, more consistent golf shots that are accurate and powerful. So try this simple golf tip golf swing is key to power and consistency and the best PGA tour players and LPGA tour players all do it well. And with some simple golf swing drills and understanding of technique, you can too do is try basically hit the ball almost as far as you can just go ahead and hit it just swing now swing down.
So, what I’d want you to do is talk to us and feel and reflect on whether you feel what you do to initiate that downswing what do you do? I did with the lower body it’s up to you can meet with more than one minder for the first trying to pull the hands like let the hands drop a little bit.
What tends to happen is people have three distinct things they think right this is from years of doing this one the feel like the left hip pulls out they way up one they feel the right leg kind of pushes down and pushes off.
The key thing also with the drill is when you’re in that top of the backswing position is we don’t up to come down we have to feel how do we fire what do we use to initiate the power to propel the ball.
Imagine the ground acting as a springboard during the golf swing. This will help you develop and understand how you generate power. Think of jumping up off the ground from a static position.
To do this you need to push down to be able to spring back up and leave the ground. Think of a high jumper or longer jumper or discus thrower. They’re creating leverage with the ground to be able to perform their desired action with power.
