Then practice yourself at home with a golf club and get a video camera from somewhere so that you can record your motion. Now play it back and observe your swing – the beginning, mid-point and the end. Does it all come together or can you improve it? Study the mechanisms of your body and work on where you can improve.

Learn The Rules Of Golf

Luckily, golf is one of the easiest games to learn but I recommend that you read up on the rules. Learn the basic names such as birdie, eagle, albatross etc. Also, learn the different different types of games such as tournament play, stroke and skins. Even learn what happens in different game types when there is a tie and how this is resolved.

A great way to do this is to get yourself a video game. Every game platform has a golf game and they are a great way to learn positional play as well as the rules.

Practice Your Grip

It's very important to have a good firm grip of your golf clubs so the size of them is all important. Preferably get your clubs from a proper golf store where they can advise you of this. If you are picking your clubs up second hand then get the advice of a golfing friend who may be able to go along with you when you buy them to see if they suit you.

Also, keep a golf club handy around the house or even at work. When you have a spare moment, it is very good to practice both your grip and your swing and these will soon become second nature and feel like a natural extension of your arm.
